Puzzler

Overview

  • This theme is for that person in your life who loves the challenge of a great puzzle, crossword or brainteaser.
  • Think about things that someone who loves puzzles would like to receive or do:
  • You can keep the theme simple and just present gifts around puzzles or you can incorporate other themes. For instance: puzzle books work well with our Book WormDark & Stormy NightRest & Relaxation and Rock, Paper, Scissors themes. An escape room adventure or a trip to a board game cafe fit with our Geek theme.
  • Think outside the box. You can give any gift you want with this theme. It doesn’t have to relate to puzzles at all if you just incorporate the gift into a puzzle.
    • For example, consider making your own crossword puzzle that your giftee has to work through. The clues can relate to actual gifts. For instance, if part of your gift is a trip to Hawaii, incorporate it into a crossword (click here to see an example).
  • You can also create your own word finds in a similar way.
  • An online search for “create your own crossword/word find” should lead you to websites that can facilitate this quickly and easily for you.
  • Try wrapping your gift with old crosswords or word finds.
  • Tie a small puzzle related item into the ribbon around the gift (eg: an erasable pen, a small Rubik’s cube).
  • For smaller gifts, add a unique touch by making your own box.
  • As mentioned above, try using personalized crosswords or word finds to present the gift.
  • Use quotes or phrases that relate to your theme when you present the gifts or in your card. For example:
    • “It’s always the small ‘pieces’ that make the big picture.”  ~Unknown
    •  “Love is like a puzzle. Hard to piece together, but beautiful when all the right pieces are put together.” ~Steve Jobs
    •  You’re the missing ‘piece’ I’ve been trying to find.
    •  Hope this gift gives you a ‘clue’ about how much I care about you.
